My ROLI or LUMI piano lights stay on or show the wrong keys

Keys stay lit or light up at random on your ROLI or LUMI piano? What causes it and simple ways to reset the lights.
Why it happens
The lights are controlled by the app. If the connection drops or the app closes suddenly, the keyboard can keep its last state.
Quick reset
Turn the keyboard off and on again, then reconnect it. The lights restart clean.
Prefer USB
Over Bluetooth, many light changes in a short time can get lost. A cable keeps the lights in sync with the screen.
Check the alignment
If the lit keys are shifted, the app may not know which octave the keyboard is on. In DOLI PIANO, recalibrate from the MIDI menu.
Lights after closing an app
The keyboard keeps the last lighting it received. If you close a learning app while keys are lit, or the computer goes to sleep, those keys can stay on. Reopening the app and connecting again, or restarting the keyboard, clears them.
Lights that look random
When several apps are open at the same time, each can send its own lighting to the keyboard and they overwrite each other. Close other music apps and keep only one learning app open. Over Bluetooth, many fast changes can arrive late or not at all, which looks like random keys.
Lights shifted by a few keys
If the right number of keys light up but in the wrong place, the octave of the keyboard changed. Press the octave buttons back to the middle position, or recalibrate in the app so the screen and the keyboard agree again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn off stuck lights on my LUMI Keys?
Turn the keyboard off and on again, then reconnect it to the app.
Why do my LUMI keys light up randomly?
Usually two apps are controlling the lights at once, or Bluetooth is dropping some messages. Use one app and a USB cable.
Does DOLI PIANO change my keyboard's settings?
No. It only reads notes and sends temporary lighting; it never updates or modifies the firmware.
