How to use your ROLI or LUMI piano without ROLI Learn

DOLI PIANO in Guided mode with a connected LUMI Keys: notes fall towards the 24 keys.

In October 2026, ROLI Learn (previously called LUMI Music) was removed from the App Store. Many owners of LUMI Keys and ROLI Piano M were left with a working keyboard and no app to learn with. The good news: the keyboard itself still works. LUMI Keys is a standard MIDI controller, so any app that reads MIDI notes can use it. DOLI PIANO is a free, browser-based option built specifically for these 24-key keyboards.

What you need

You need a LUMI Keys or ROLI Piano M, a computer running macOS or Windows, and Google Chrome. Chrome supports the Web MIDI API, which lets a website read the notes you play. Safari does not support Web MIDI, so it will not detect your keyboard. No ROLI account, no ROLI Connect and no subscription are required.

Step 1: connect your keyboard

The simplest way is a USB-C cable: plug the keyboard into your computer and turn it on. For a wireless setup, pair it as a Bluetooth MIDI device. On macOS, open Audio MIDI Setup, show the MIDI Studio window and use the Bluetooth configuration panel. On Windows, Bluetooth MIDI support depends on your system, so USB is the most reliable choice.

Step 2: open DOLI PIANO and play

Open DOLI PIANO in Chrome and click Start Playing. When Chrome asks for MIDI access, allow it. Your keyboard is detected automatically, and the 24 keys on screen match the 24 keys under your fingers. Pick a song from the library, or one of the exercises, and follow the colorful falling notes.

Step 3: practice at your own pace

In Guided mode, the song pauses until you press the correct key. In Rhythm mode, the music keeps going and you can slow it down to 25%, 50% or 75% speed. You can also import your own MIDI files: they are converted into a lesson and stored only in your browser. On compatible keyboards, the light-up keys show the next note to play.
