Best ROLI Learn alternatives for ROLI & LUMI pianos

DOLI PIANO in Guided mode: colored falling notes moving towards a 24-key on-screen piano matching a LUMI Keys keyboard
DOLI PIANO in Guided mode with a connected LUMI Keys: notes fall towards the 24 keys.

ROLI Learn (previously LUMI Music) was removed from the App Store in October 2026. If you own a LUMI Keys or a ROLI Piano M, your keyboard still works: it is a standard MIDI keyboard. You just need another app to learn with. Here is how the main options compare.

What to look for

Before choosing, check four things: does the app read a MIDI keyboard, does it work with only 24 keys, does it use the light-up keys, and does it require a subscription. Many piano apps are designed for 61 or 88 keys, so some songs will not fit on a LUMI.

DOLI PIANO (free, in the browser)

DOLI PIANO was built specifically for LUMI Keys and ROLI Piano M owners after ROLI Learn disappeared. It runs in Google Chrome, with nothing to install and no account. The on-screen piano has exactly 24 keys, songs are arranged to fit them, falling notes show what to play, and you can import your own MIDI files. It is free and has no subscription. It is a young, independent project, so its song library is smaller than commercial apps.

MIDI learning software

Desktop programs that turn MIDI files into falling notes work with any MIDI keyboard, including LUMI Keys. They are a good choice if you already have MIDI files. Check whether the free version is limited, and whether it can light up the keys of your specific keyboard.

Subscription piano apps

Popular piano learning apps offer large song libraries and structured courses, and most accept a MIDI keyboard. They usually require a monthly or yearly subscription, are not designed around 24 keys and do not use the LUMI lights.

Our recommendation

If you want to keep the LUMI experience, light-up keys and songs that fit on 24 keys, without paying a subscription, start with DOLI PIANO. See the free song list or the setup guide.
