How to import MIDI songs to your ROLI or LUMI piano

DOLI PIANO in Guided mode: colored falling notes moving towards a 24-key on-screen piano matching a LUMI Keys keyboard
DOLI PIANO in Guided mode with a connected LUMI Keys: notes fall towards the 24 keys.

A MIDI file (.mid or .midi) contains the notes of a song, not a sound recording. That makes it perfect for learning: an app can read the notes and show you which keys to press. With DOLI PIANO you can turn any MIDI file into a lesson for your LUMI Keys or ROLI Piano M.

1. Find a MIDI file

Many websites share free MIDI files, especially for classical music and traditional songs in the public domain. Choose piano arrangements when you can: they are easier to play than full orchestral files. Always respect the copyright of the music you download.

2. Import it

Open DOLI PIANO in Google Chrome, connect your keyboard, open the library and choose import. Select the MIDI file on your computer. It is converted into a lesson in a few seconds.

3. Play it on 24 keys

A LUMI Keys has only 24 keys, while many songs use a much wider range. DOLI PIANO automatically folds the notes into the two octaves of your keyboard, so every note lands on a key you can actually press. You can then follow the falling notes in Guided mode, where the song waits for you, or in Rhythm mode at 25%, 50%, 75% or full speed.

4. Rename and keep your songs

Imported songs appear in their own tab in the library, and you can rename them. They are stored only in your browser: nothing is uploaded to a server. If you clear your browser's site data, imported songs are deleted, so keep a copy of your MIDI files.
