DOLI PIANO in Guided mode with a connected LUMI Keys: notes fall towards the 24 keys.

The ROLI Piano M is a 24-key keyboard with light-up keys, originally sold together with the ROLI Learn app. Many owners now wonder whether the keyboard is still useful without a subscription. The answer is yes: the Piano M sends standard MIDI notes, so any app that reads a MIDI keyboard can use it.

Do I need ROLI Learn to use my Piano M?

No. ROLI Learn was one way to learn with the keyboard, not a requirement. Plugged into a computer, the Piano M behaves like any MIDI keyboard. You can play it in music software, in desktop learning programs, or in a web app such as DOLI PIANO.

How to learn for free

Connect the Piano M to your computer with a USB-C cable, or pair it as a Bluetooth MIDI device. Open DOLI PIANO in Google Chrome and allow MIDI access when asked. Choose a song: each one is arranged for 24 keys and comes in several versions, from right hand only to both hands with chords. Notes fall towards the keyboard and wait for you in Guided mode, or keep the rhythm in Rhythm mode, with a slower speed if you need it.

What about the lights?

Support for the Piano M in DOLI PIANO is still in progress. Playing and learning with falling notes works like on any MIDI keyboard, and features may vary while support improves.
