Your first piano chords on a ROLI or LUMI piano

Learn C, F and G major chords on a 24-key ROLI or LUMI piano. The three chords that let you accompany hundreds of songs.
How a chord is built
A basic chord is three keys played together: skip one white key between each. C chord is C, E and G.
The three essential chords
C (C-E-G), F (F-A-C) and G (G-B-D). With these three chords you can play along with a huge number of simple songs.
Practice them
DOLI PIANO has a chord exercise in the Exercises section. Try the full-chord versions of songs once you know them.
Finding the chords on 24 keys
Find C: it is the white key just to the left of the group of two black keys. Play C with your thumb, E with your middle finger and G with your little finger. For F, move your hand so your thumb is on F, the white key just left of the group of three black keys, and play F, A and C. For G, thumb on G, then B and D.
Moving between chords
The hard part is not the chord itself but changing quickly. Practice C to F and back ten times slowly, then C to G. Keep your fingers close to the keys and look at where your thumb goes. After a few days, the movement becomes automatic.
Using chords with songs
Many simple songs use only C, F and G: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday (in a simplified version), When the Saints Go Marching In. Play the melody with the right hand and hold the chord with the left hand at the start of each measure.
