Is there a free piano learning app for any MIDI keyboard?
Yes. DOLI PIANO is a free piano app that works in Chrome with most USB MIDI keyboards: Yamaha, Casio, Roland, Arturia, M-Audio, Akai and LUMI.
Free, in your browser
DOLI PIANO runs in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Plug in your keyboard, allow MIDI access and play: no download, no account, no subscription.
What you get
Falling notes, a library of public domain songs in several levels, short beginner lessons with a voice guide, and the option to import your own MIDI files.
Which keyboards work
Most keyboards with a USB MIDI port, from 25-key controllers to 88-key digital pianos. Light-up keys only work on LUMI Keys and ROLI Piano M.
Frequently asked questions
Does my keyboard need a USB port?
Yes. Look for a port marked USB, USB to Host or USB-MIDI. Keyboards with only a headphone jack cannot send notes to a computer.
How do I know if my keyboard sends MIDI?
Open the free MIDI keyboard test, plug in your keyboard and press a few keys. If they show up, it works with DOLI PIANO.
